Chantal Provost
Interim Executive Director
With a Master’s degree in history and a PhD in research on new research methodologies in interdisciplinary practices (arts, sciences, and humanities), Ms. Provost has worked in the field of education for 22 years, specifically in higher education for 15 years, including 7 years as a Research Director at the college level. She is a member of the Research Commission of the Fédération des cégeps and participates in working groups on research ethics and research data management, as well as several research groups. Since 2020, she has held the position of Assistant Director, Technical Programs and Research at Collège Bois-de-Boulogne.
Ms. Provost has extensive experience in the creation, implementation, and management of university technology transfer centers (CCTT), including coordinating the application for recognition and implementation of Cégep Saint-Laurent’s CCTT in innovative social practices, the Artenso Center. She has served on the boards of two other CCTTs and is currently on the board of JACOBB. An active member of the CCTT network, Ms. Provost is particularly involved in the Chantier de la recherche program of the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur
Myriam Côté
Director of Research and Innovation
Myriam Côté is a strategic advisor in the field of artificial intelligence. Her mission is to facilitate the implementation and the beneficial, ethical and socially responsible use of AI.
During her ten years at MILA, including several years as Executive Director, she helped build, develop and manage the institute in close collaboration with its director, the eminent Professor Yoshua Bengio (Turing Award, the computer science equivalent of the Nobel Prize). She gained unique experience working with an elite group of university researchers, some of whom have had a profound impact on the development of AI in Quebec.
Ms. Côté has also developed a rare expertise in technology transfer, helping Quebec companies integrate AI into their products and services. In addition, she has actively contributed to building bridges with prestigious partners such as Google and Microsoft, and collaborators such as OBVIA, Montréal International, Mitacs, and NSERC, to name a few.
With a postdoctoral and doctoral degree in artificial intelligence and a bachelor’s degree in engineering physics, she has represented MILA as a speaker at various forums at home and abroad, including the United Nations, and has helped popularize the field by giving courses and Ted Talks on the topic.
